Back to School

In early July, you can count on stores filling their shelves with school supplies, back packs, desk lights of all colors, dorm room trinkets, and anything else you'd ever need for school. My twitter and Facebook feeds are full of reminders that my alma mater move-in day is today. There's no avoiding it - it's that time of year. The words "Back to School" used to cause me agony and distress when I was a student. Even in college, I always dreaded going back to school. I loved being with my friends, but I disliked all of the stress that came with writing papers, studying for midterms, or working on a group project. As an adult, the phrase has no effect on me... and I love it!

I love working full time. I'm thankful that there is so much overtime available in my line of work, and that my career is transportable all over the country. Honestly, I have dreams of pursuing a master's degree in the future. At this point in my life, however, I'm enjoying the freedoms of NOT being in school. I don't even know what sort of Master's degree I want, but I know I am years away from starting that.

Even though summer is nearing an end, I embrace and look forward to fall. I plan on thoroughly enjoying these last few weeks of summer too. We have a two week trip to Europe coming up next month, and I can't believe how quickly it's approaching. I remember dreaming of what life would be like once I graduated college and finally got to live with my husband, and I can honestly say it's so much more amazing than I could have ever dreamed! Some people say that college is "the best part of your life," but I respectfully disagree. I think the best is yet to come!
